Every household has different needs.
Some families start their day early between schools and work, others need daily support in managing household tasks, while some look for specialized care for children or elderly family members. As lifestyles continue to evolve within the local community, domestic worker recruitment is no longer a traditional decision, but a thoughtful choice that requires a clear understanding of each role.
Today, recruitment is no longer limited to hiring a housemaid only. Options have expanded to include nannies, private drivers, home cooks, and caregivers, with greater flexibility in years of experience, multiple skill sets, and even installment-based payment options through modern digital platforms such as Ayady.
In this article, we take a practical look at the most important domestic recruitment roles available, and how to choose the right option for your family without complexity or overthinking.
The housemaid remains the most common choice for families, but the scope of this role has evolved significantly over recent years. The job is no longer limited to cleaning alone, but now includes managing various daily household details.
Cleaning and organizing living spaces
Laundry and ironing
Assisting in the kitchen
Managing daily household needs
Partial childcare support when needed
Families can now recruit a multi-skilled housemaid with experience in more than one area, and select based on years of experience that match the size of the home and the family’s lifestyle—saving both time and effort compared to random selection.
Having a professional nanny at home goes beyond supervision. It creates a stable daily environment that supports a child’s healthy growth.
Caring for newborns and young children
Managing sleep and feeding routines
Supervising play and daily activities
Supporting early learning
Maintaining hygiene and safety
Many families prefer recruiting a nanny with additional household experience, especially in homes that require greater flexibility in task distribution.
In major cities, the private driver has become a core part of daily family life, particularly with busy schedules and multiple commitments.
Transporting family members
School drop-offs and pick-ups
Handling daily errands
Maintaining privacy and punctuality
The right choice depends not only on recruiting a driver, but on driving experience, knowledge of routes, and professional discipline, all of which significantly impact daily convenience.
With growing awareness around healthy eating, hiring a home cook has become a preferred option for many families, especially those with children or elderly members.
Preparing daily meals
Cooking healthy, balanced food
Organizing the kitchen
Occasionally assisting with grocery shopping
Some cooks also have experience in light household duties, making them a practical all-in-one solution for many homes.
This is one of the most sensitive recruitment roles, especially for families with:
Elderly family members
Individuals requiring medical follow-up
People with special needs
Assisting with mobility
Managing medications
Providing daily care
Offering emotional and social support
Here, the right choice depends more on experience, patience, and communication skills than on any other factor.
One of the biggest challenges families face is recruitment cost, especially when hiring specialized roles such as nannies or private drivers. This is why installment-based recruitment has become a practical and accessible option.
Spreading the cost over time
Reducing financial pressure
Easier monthly budgeting
Avoiding delays caused by upfront payments
