Few decisions have as lasting an impact on a Saudi household as choosing the right domestic worker. A domestic worker is far more than a hired hand who completes daily chores — she is, in many ways, an extension of the family itself: caring for children, managing the home, supporting elderly relatives, and freeing both parents to focus on their careers and personal lives.
Yet for all its importance, the road to recruiting a suitable domestic worker has never been straightforward. Between steep upfront costs, an overwhelming number of recruitment offices varying wildly in quality and reliability, lengthy bureaucratic procedures, and the ever-present risk of incompatibility, many Saudi families find themselves lost in a process that should be simple. This guide cuts through that complexity and places a clear, practical roadmap in your hands.
In the pages that follow, we cover everything you need to know: how to evaluate a recruitment office, which nationalities excel in which roles, how Ayady is transforming the entire experience, and why the platform's installment payment option may be the most important innovation the domestic staffing sector has seen in years.
Saudi Arabia ranks among the world's largest markets for domestic labor. As the pace of professional and social life accelerates, demand for domestic workers continues to grow. Millions of domestic workers are employed across the Kingdom at any given time, with hundreds of thousands of new recruitment requests filed every year.
Yet this scale brings its own complications. The challenges most commonly faced by Saudi families include:
• High upfront costs: Recruitment fees can run to tens of thousands of riyals — often many times the worker's monthly salary — creating a significant financial barrier.
• Difficulty verifying office credibility: The market includes both reputable, licensed offices and unreliable operators, making it hard to know whom to trust.
• Opaque, lengthy procedures: Without a tracking system, families often spend months wondering where their application stands.
• Risk of mismatch: A worker's documented skills may not match the family's actual needs, requiring the entire process to be restarted.
These challenges collectively drove the creation of specialized digital platforms like Ayady — designed to address all of them in one integrated solution.
With hundreds of recruitment offices operating across the Kingdom, how do you tell the reliable ones from the rest? The answer lies in a set of non-negotiable criteria:
1. Official Licensing and Accreditation — Always verify that the office holds a valid license issued by the relevant Saudi governmental authorities. An unlicensed office offers no legal guarantee and exposes you to serious financial and legal risk.
2. Complete Pricing Transparency — A trustworthy office presents a full, itemized breakdown of all costs from day one: recruitment fees, flight costs, visa fees, medical examinations, and any administrative charges. Never proceed with an office that reveals costs only after you've committed.
3. A Diverse and Extensive Worker Database — The broader the office's roster — across nationalities, specializations, and experience levels — the greater your chance of finding a worker who genuinely matches your family's needs.
4. Reputation and Client Reviews — Client testimonials and ratings are among the most reliable indicators of service quality. The number of years an office has operated and its standing in the community are also meaningful signals.
5. Post-Recruitment Support — The relationship doesn't end when the worker arrives. A good office remains available to assist with any adjustment challenges that arise in the first weeks, and offers clear, fair terms for replacement if genuinely needed.
6. Installment Payment Options — This criterion has grown increasingly decisive. An office or platform that offers flexible payment plans dramatically lowers the barrier to recruitment and enables families across all income levels to access quality domestic staffing.
Not all nationalities are identical in terms of specializations, cultural backgrounds, or communication styles. Here is a detailed look at the most commonly recruited nationalities available through Ayady and what makes each one distinctive:
🇵🇭 Filipino Workers: Filipino domestic workers are among the most sought-after worldwide. They typically bring a solid educational background, English language proficiency, and strong experience in childcare and elderly care. Their ability to adapt quickly to new environments and communicate effectively makes them a top choice for families with young children.
🇪🇹 Ethiopian Workers: Ethiopian workers are known for their adaptability and strong work ethic. They handle cleaning and cooking tasks effectively and tend to integrate well into new households. Their rates are also among the most competitive relative to the quality of work they provide.
🇺🇬 Ugandan Workers: Ugandan workers are recognised for their discipline and dedication. Many have experience working with children and the elderly, and they bring a level of physical stamina that suits the varied demands of household work.
🇧🇩 Bangladeshi Workers: An economically attractive option for families with tighter budgets. Bangladeshi workers are known for their patience and consistency, with good skills in cooking and general housekeeping.
🇱🇰 Sri Lankan Workers: Sri Lanka has a long, established history of sending domestic workers to Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. Sri Lankan workers are valued for their calm temperament, discipline, and their capacity to learn household routines quickly.
🇰🇪 Kenyan Workers: Kenyan workers generally bring a relatively high level of education and widespread English proficiency. They are an excellent choice for families that value clear communication and want a worker capable of assisting children with their studies.
The optimal choice depends on clearly defining your priorities: is childcare the primary concern? Cooking? General cleaning? Supporting an elderly relative? Ayady's advanced filters let you narrow down candidates by specialization and match them to your household profile in minutes.
Given the challenges that have long plagued the traditional recruitment sector, Ayady was built to offer a fundamentally different model — one that redefines the recruitment experience from the ground up. Ayady is not simply a digital intermediary; it is a complete ecosystem that brings both sides of the equation — families seeking domestic help and officially certified recruitment offices — under a single, transparent digital roof.
• A vast, searchable database of worker CVs covering multiple nationalities and specializations, with detailed information on experience, skills, and availability.
• A verified network of recruitment offices and companies holding full official accreditation from the Kingdom's relevant authorities, ensuring complete legal and financial protection for every transaction.
• A real-time order tracking system that sends you instant notifications at every stage of the recruitment process — from initial submission through to the worker's arrival.
• Intelligent comparison tools that let you evaluate multiple certified offices side by side on price, services offered, and client ratings.
• Nationwide geographic coverage extending to all cities and regions of Saudi Arabia without exception.
• An exclusive installment financing option developed in partnership with trusted financial institutions.
A traditional recruitment office presents you with the options it has available — and has an inherent interest in promoting certain workers or packages over others. Ayady, by contrast, is a neutral platform that works in your interest: it gives you the complete picture, equips you with the tools to compare, and leaves the final decision entirely in your hands. Every transaction is processed with full transparency through the Kingdom's official channels, providing you with comprehensive legal protection.
Ayady operates on a simple principle: you deserve to know everything before you pay anything. Transparency is not an option — it is the foundation.
For years, the high upfront cost of domestic worker recruitment was the single biggest reason families delayed or abandoned the decision altogether. Many turned to personal bank loans — a solution that solved one problem while creating another. Ayady's exclusive installment system fundamentally changes this dynamic.
1. No Impact on Your Credit Record — Unlike a conventional bank loan, Ayady's financing option is structured in a way that does not register as a debt on your credit history. You recruit with peace of mind, not financial anxiety.
2. Flexible Monthly Payments Tailored to Your Budget — There is no single plan forced on everyone. Ayady offers multiple installment structures, allowing you to select the repayment period and monthly amount that genuinely fits your income and financial circumstances.
3. A Fast, Simplified Application Process — There is no complex paperwork, no lengthy waiting period, and no intimidating approval process. The system is designed to be as straightforward as possible so you can focus on what matters: finding the right worker.
4. Comprehensive Coverage of All Recruitment Costs — The financing covers the full cost of recruitment — office fees, visa charges, medical examinations, and related administrative expenses — eliminating the need to source additional funds from elsewhere.
5. Available Nationwide — Whether you are in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, or any other city in the Kingdom, you have access to the same installment terms and the same seamless experience.
Practical tip: When browsing workers on Ayady, activate the 'Installment' filter to display only those who can be recruited via the payment plan. Plan smarter, decide faster.
If recruiting a domestic worker is a genuine family need rather than a discretionary expense — as it is for most households with young children, elderly members requiring care, or working parents managing demanding schedules — then the installment option converts that need from a deferred dream into an immediate reality. Instead of waiting months to accumulate the full amount, you recruit today and pay progressively. Your family's needs cannot wait, and now they don't have to.
One of the most common reasons families delay recruitment is the perceived complexity of the process. With Ayady, every step is clearly defined, fully supported, and genuinely simple:
1. Register and Create Your Account — Visit ayady.sa and create your account in a matter of minutes. Upon registration, you gain immediate access to the full database and all platform features.
2. Define Your Household's Needs — Answer a concise set of questions: How many family members? Which nationality do you prefer? Do you have young children requiring dedicated care? Do you prioritise cooking skills? These answers immediately guide you toward the most relevant profiles.
3. Compare Offers and Offices — Once you have shortlisted a candidate, compare the certified offices offering that worker by price, service scope, and client reviews.
Before Recruitment:
• Read the worker's CV carefully and look for genuine alignment between her documented experience and your household's actual requirements before submitting your request.
• Be realistic in your expectations: every worker needs time to adjust to a new environment, new routines, and a new family's way of doing things.
• Review the replacement and guarantee terms clearly spelled out in the contract before you sign.
• Prepare the home for the worker's arrival: a clean, comfortable room and the tools she needs to do her job well.
After Your Worker Arrives:
• Dedicate the first week to orientation and training rather than evaluation and criticism.
• Document tasks and schedules in writing to prevent misunderstandings and set clear, fair expectations.
• Honour the worker's rights under Saudi domestic labour regulations: pay her on time, provide weekly rest days, and ensure dignified treatment at all times.
• If any issue arises, contact the recruitment office or Ayady's support team immediately before taking unilateral action.
Ayady is not exclusively designed for families. It is equally a growth engine for licensed and accredited recruitment offices. If you operate a licensed office and are looking to expand your client base, joining Ayady's network gives you access to:
• A large, actively searching customer base, reducing the time and cost spent on client acquisition.
• The installment financing system, which lowers the price barrier for end clients and directly increases your deal completion rate.
• Qualified, verified leads who have already expressed genuine intent to recruit, making your sales process more efficient.
• Digital marketing tools that strengthen your office's online presence, reputation, and credibility at scale.
Registration as a partner office is available through the dedicated partner page on ayady.sa.
Recruiting the right domestic worker is not a luxury — it is a genuine investment in your family's wellbeing, your personal time, and your overall quality of life. Ayady has brought these four elements together in a single, seamless, secure digital experience — and added an installment payment option that eliminates the last remaining barrier standing between you and that decision. Do not delay what can meaningfully improve your family's life starting today.
